Last semester, we had our one-week exposure to the National Center for Mental Health in Mandaluyong, Philippines. During our exposure I was assigned to make a poem about flowers and different activities related to flowers. After reciting the poem that I made, we talked about the different uses of flowers. Some patients answered, flowers can be used as a house décor, some said that it can be a gift to your love ones during Valentines day and others answered it can be used as a source of income by selling it to others. One answered that flowers can also be given to your love ones who’ve passed. Speaking of the love ones who’ve passed, it is nearly the end of the month of October and here comes the month of November, the month where we celebrate All Saint’s Day and All Souls Day. We celebrate for our love ones who have passed and already in peace. Here in the Philippines, we celebrate All Soul’s Day by going to the cemetery with all our family and relatives. We bring different stuff that we will offer to the souls of our love ones, stuffs like candles and flowers, like orchids and others.
Flowers are really useful as what the mentally-ill patients have enumerated. Now it is not hard to find flower shops. I found this website 2flowers.com , an international flower delivery. They offer flower delivery all over the world. Send flowers wherever you want to your love ones in as fast as 24 hours. You can choose from different variety of floral arrangements made and designed by local florists all over the world. This international flower delivery is trusted and has been working for 15 years. - Hot flashes. A hot environment, eating or drinking hot or spicy foods, alcohol or caffeine, and stress can bring on hot flashes. Try to avoid these triggers. Dress in layers and keep a fan in your home or workplace. Regular exercise might also bring relief from hot flashes and other symptoms. Ask your healthcare provider about taking medication such as antidepressants, or hormone therapy, both of which can be helpful for some women.
- Vaginal dryness. You could try an over-the-counter vaginal lubricant. There are also prescription estrogen-replacement creams that your doctor may prescribe to use topically in the vagina. If you have spotting or bleeding while using estrogen creams, you should see your doctor.
- Problems sleeping. One of the best ways to get a good night’s sleep is to get at least 30 minutes of physical activity on most days of the week. But avoid exercising vigorously close to bedtime. Also avoid alcohol, caffeine, large meals, and working right before bedtime. You might want to drink something warm, such as herb tea or warm milk, before bedtime. Try to keep your bedroom at a comfortable temperature. Avoid napping during the day and try to go to bed and get up at the same times every day. Try relaxation exercise like meditation before bedtime.

Menopause is a normal change in a woman’s life when her period stops. It is often called the “change of life.” During menopause, which usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, a woman’s body slowly makes less of the hormones estrogen and progesterone. A woman has reached menopause when she has not had a period for 12 months in a row, and there are no other causes for this change. As you near menopause, you may have symptoms from the changes ocurring in your body. Many women wonder if these changes are normal, and many are confused about how to treat their symptoms. You can feel better by learning all you can about menopause and talking with your doctor about your health and symptoms. If you want to treat your symptoms, your healthcare provider can discuss treatment options with you.

In most cases, cheap toothpaste doesn’t cut it. An expensive toothpaste is often needed for a brighter smile. Unfortunately, getting your teeth whitened professionally is not an option for everyone. If you want to forego the creams, bleaches, trays, and gels found in drugstores, you can take the natural approach and use any of the following home remedies for whiter teeth that are both cheap and effective.
Baking Soda: An old-time favorite, baking soda has many purposes, including tooth whitening. Most dentists agree that it’s safe to use and works fairly quickly. You can use it alone on a damp toothbrush or mix it with toothpaste to help neutralize the salty taste.
Hydrogen Peroxide: One of the most popular home remedies, peroxide, is cheap and most people have it on hand. Chances are, you will feel some burning in your gums, but you’ll be left with clean, whiter teeth. Typically, most people will see results within a couple of weeks but it can happen much sooner. It’s also safe to gargle, but don’t swallow.

Whether you’re a single parent by choice, because of divorce or a failed relationship, or because your partner died, being a single parent can be scary, rewarding, frustrating, and challenging. The key to effective single parenting is communication with your children, a great support system, and taking time for yourself. Follow these guidelines to achieve effective single parenting:
- Form a reliable support system. Choose to surround yourself and your family with people who care about you. Those people could include trusted friends, family members, neighbors, and church members. When you include people in your life, you help to create a family for you and your children, and you can learn to rely upon them to help you with your responsibilities as a single parent. When you need to take time out for yourself, you can turn to them to care for your children.
- Make your life routine. Children need routine and stability. By developing daily routine, your children will learn stability and trust. Set aside one night each week for a family night, and make sure you stick to a schedule. When you teach your children that your family night will happen each week, no matter what, you build their trust in you as a parent.

Nobody enjoys back pains…
Back pains for expecting women are to be expected through some stages of pregnancy. An estimated two of every three pregnant women will experience pelvic and back pains by the 36th week. As the baby grows and becomes heavier, more pressure is put on the back to support the mothers growing abdomen. The babys position in the womb can also contribute to back pain. There are even more factors that may bring on back pain in expecting mothers. Stress and over exertion can also be major factors, besides being unhealthy for the baby. While most back pain resolves itself several months after delivery, some back pain can be prevented altogether.
Take it Easy
Enjoy breaks and get plenty of rest. This doesn’t mean that you have to become a couch potato, but you should take more time to rest and relax. Put your feet up, grab a cup of your favorite decaffeinated soothing drink and take it easy. Try to lie down once in a while and, if at all possible, try to minimize activities that put stress on your back. While at work, do not sit for extended periods of time and when you are sitting, a great idea is to place a pillow behind the small of your back.
